  • Multipurpose - it is multipurpose & economical product, easy to use
  • Cracking - it prevents cracking by improving flexural strength
  • Hardness - improves the hardness & prevents dust generation
  • Shrinkage - Reduces drying & aging shrinkage cracks
  • Bonding - Bond strongly to concrete, masonry, stonework, plasters, cementitious surfaces, asphalt & most of the building materials
  • Erosion & corrosion - improves erosion resistance & prevents corrosion
  • Abrasion resistance - improves abrasion resistance of the cement mix
  • Reduces viscosity of cement injection grout for better fluidity & bonding

Uses:
  • For concrete repairs - Spalled concrete of floors, columns, beams, chhajas, slabs, parapets, etc.
  • For waterproofing - Small roof terraces, sunken portions of toilets & bathrooms, chhajas & lift pits, balconies & staircases

  • Bonding mortar for tiles & panels, as undercoat for special finishes such as top rendering coat for chemical resistant floors
  • For bonding of new concrete to old concrete, masonry stone work, plastering
  • Fixing or re-fixing of slip bricks, tiles, stones & marble bedding
  • As external rendering - weatherproof & frost resistant render high wear & erosion resistant render
  • As bonding slurry coat for pinhole treatment on concrete surface & as repair mortar for overhead application

Typical Applications:
Surface Preparation:
  • Clean the surface with wire brush or scrubber to remove hidden dirt, loose particles, laitance & dust. Degrease the surface by using suitable solvents
  • Repair the Spalled concrete portion by saw, cutting the extreme edges of the repair location to a depth of at least 10 mm to avoid feather edging & to provide strong bond
  • Clean the concrete surface to remove any contamination where breaking is not possible
  • Roughen the surface by light scrabbling or grit blasting
  • Expose corroded rebar in the repairing area fully
  • Remove all loose scales & corrosion deposits and immediately clean the surface

Priming:
  • For priming of concrete substrate, the surface should be thoroughly saturated with potable water. Remove any excess of water prior to application. Slurry of primer coat is prepared by mixing of one part Mark Chem Superbond SBR Latex, one part of water and 3 parts of fresh OPC cement. Slowly mix cement with binder to obtain a smooth consistency. Continue mixing the slurry during application to prevent settlement.

Mixing:
  • A forced action mixer is essential (Pan Mixer) & recommended to ensure that Mark Chem Superbond SBR Latex mortar is thoroughly mixed or Use a suitable sized drum with heavy-duty electrical drill machine fitted with spiral paddle mixer at slow speed of 400-500 RPM.

    Description:

    • Markproof Coolcoat is a high build flexible, elastomeric aqueous based waterproofing coating, Containing special polymer and fillers. Markproof Coolcoat provides extremely long lasting protective coating that creates a thermal barrier which stands severe temperature and changes and provides long lasting protection against wind and rain. It protects concrete against attack from atmospheric carbon dioxide, airborne, chlorides, acid, rain, weathering etc. Markproof Coolcoat is a ready to use, ensuring waterproofing. It also provides extremely tough decorative waterproof coating, which allows breathing the surface.

    Features / Advantages:
    • Specially Designed where High Strength Concrete is Required
    • It improves workability and easier handling
    • It does not contains chloride hence does not corrode reinforcement
    • It can be used even for fly ash and slag cement concrete
    • It retains the workability of concrete
    • It reduces shrinkage and permeability of hardened concrete
    • It eliminates formation of cold joints between subsequent pours in mass of structural concrete
    • It increases the strength of concrete due to its water reduction property

    Typical Applications:
    • It is widely used in ready mix concrete
    • It is particularly recommended for concreting in hot climates, long or difficult pours pre stressed concrete in large sections or mass concreting
    • It is used more specifically in - Structural concrete, Bridge decks, highway concrete, Long distance transporting, pre cast concrete

    Specification Complies:
    • IS 9103, Superplasticiser Retarding type.
    • BS: 5075 PART 3
    • ASTM: C–494, Type–G

    Dosage:
    • Normal dosage range of MARKPLAST SP-40 is 0.8 to 2.1 % by weight over cementations materials including PFA, GGBFS and Micro silica/met kaolin. The optimum dosage to meet the specific requirement should always be determined by conducting trial mixes using the materials and conditions that will be experienced in use. Because of variations in job conditions, concrete materials and climatic conditions dosage rates may vary in such cases, contact our CC (Construction chemicals) representative.

    Effect of Overdosage:
    • An overdosing of MARKPLAST SP-40 can result in the following:
    • Delay of initial & final set of concrete.
    • Increase in plastic shrinkage.
    • Increase in air entrainment.
    • Severe bleed & segregation of mix
    • Due to slight overdosing of MARKPLAST SP-40 the ultimate compressive strength of concrete cannot be get affected, providing it is properly compacted & cured. Due allowance should be made for the effect of fluid concrete pressure on formwork, & stripping time should be monitored.

    Direction for Use:
    • Stir well the material before use.
    • MARKPLAST SP-40is ready to use liquid which is dispensed in to the concrete together with the mixing water.
    • The dispersion effect is higher if it is added to the damp concrete after 60 to 70% of mixing water has been added.
    • Not recommended to add in dry aggregates and cement.

    Workability:
    • MARKPLAST SP-40will retain the workability of concrete approx. up to 2 hrs. @250C. It retains the workability of concrete in proportion to the amount of product dosage used for trials. The workability loss is dependent on factors such as temperature, type of cement, type of aggregate, the initial workability of mix and methods of transportation of concrete etc.
